Week 1 Game Reports

Cincinnati Bengals @ Indianapolis Colts

For the Indianapolis Colts, things started well, got a little shaky in the middle but ultimately ended well to get their season
off to a well deserved victory.
The Bengals started the game receiving the kick-off and with just the second play of the game, Quarterback Andy Dalton threw a deep ball down the left hand side of the field intended for A.J.Green. The ball was underthrown and picked-off by recent free agent CB acquisition, Craig Mager.
Andrew Luck and the Colts wasted little time and seven plays later, Luck found an open Jack Doyle for an easy score with Adam Vinatieri adding the extra point, the home fans were in a suitably joyous mood.

The Benglas next drive fizzed out with the Colts defence not giving Dalton time in the pocket, it was time for the Colts to try and extend their lead. That didn't go according to plan. With Luck again driving for the Bengals endzone, disaster struck with Darqueze Dennard picking off an errant pass from Luck and returning it 77 yards for a Cincinnati touchdown.

Andy Dalton and the Bengals began to come alive in the second quarter and they extended their lead when Dalton found Green in the endzone to make the score 14-7 in favour of the Bengals. Adam Vinatieri would add a Colts field goal before the half.

A slow start to the third quarter saw both teams trade possessions before Dalton again found A.J.Green in the endzone for a Cincinnati score. The 11 point margin was confirmed when Connor Barth added the point after. Time was running out for the Colts as both teams entered the fourth quarter.

With a little over five minutes left in the game, Indianapolis started to move the ball with precision and got their reward when rookie HB, Nyheim Hines found space down the right hand side and his pace saw him barely break the plane. Jack Doyle caught a pass in the endzone after the Colts elected to try for two points. Now there was just a three point split with just under four minutes remaining. Colts fans sensed something special was about to happen.

Cincinnati went very conservative and were stuffed on a 3rd and 4 by Colts LB, Najee Goode and the Colts went to work with two and a half minutes on the clock.
A selection of run and pass plays saw the Colts work the ball down to the Bengals five yard line and as the clock ticked down to five seconds, Andrew Luck found an open Jack Doyle in the endzone to give the Colts an unbelievable come-from-behind score. Vinatieri would add the point after and after kicking to the Bengals, time expired as the returner scooped the squib kick.

Ravens - Bills

After a missed FG by the bills to take the lead the ravens scored on a long drive.
Pretty much all defense as the ravens kept the bills scoreless and collings scored his 2nd TD on a long run to make the final score 14-0.

to bad no vid of the tds...
