Carolina 10-31 Atlanta

The Falcons advance to the conference championship with hard fought 31-10 victory over Carolina, the Panthers took the opening kick off and marched down the field to paydirt as the Falcon defense struggled to get going, Vic Beasley Jnr whiffing on two sack attempts and the secondary failing to intercept a wayward Newton pass, Cam Newton eventually scrambling in for the opening score from 2 yards. Both teams went 3 and out on their next possessions as Beasley Jnr finally found his tackle gloves sacking Newton twice. The Falcons next drive stalled on the Carolina 25 and the dependable Bryant's kick sailed wide, Gano showed Bryant how it was done as he booted the Panthers into a 10-0 lead at halftime.
The second half started much the same way as the 1st ended with Atlanta unable to move the ball on a stiff Carolina defense, Atlanta finally got some points on the board when Richardson fielded a punt on the 24 and juked his way 76 yards to score and give the fans something to cheer about. Vic Beasley's strip sack on Newton at the four set up Freeman to score Atlanta's 1st offensive points of the game, Freeman added another TD from the 21 following a good return from Richardson. Duke Riley then intercepted Newton at the ten, Julio Jones 78 yard TD catch from Ryan put the Falcons in a commanding position and Bryant added a FG from 20 yards to close out the scoring.
