Week 4 Game Reports

Post by GeordieAlfie on Sun 11 Mar 2018, 7:48 am

Cincinnati Bengals13-21Buffalo Bills
The Bills finally played a home game and managed to get their first win of the season. Another injury mystery occurred though, as RB Keith Marshall, who had been given the starter's job in place of LeSean McCoy, sustained a broken collarbone during the second half. Coach Noakes was expecting him to be sidelined for several weeks, only to find on checking with his crack medical team that Marshall would be available for the Patriots game next week.

In reality, the Bills struggled for much of this game and were fortunate to connect with a couple of big TD plays. Coach Noakes will be having a strong word with safety Micah Hyde after an embarrassing attempt to prevent a Dalton scrambling touchdown.

LA Chargers 17-13 Cleveland

The Browns fell to a home defeat to the visiting Bolts, who raced out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. A strange game saw Cleveland miss an absolute sitter of a FG from inside 20 yards and Kolbe Listenbee bring down Crowell, who looked destined to reach paydirt.

That aside, the Browns had no answer for a Chargers team who was efficient through the air when it mattered, even if they did struggle on the ground. The Browns, on the other hand, couldn't cope with the LA defense in their passing game, posting a miserable 59 yards passing, although Crowell had a measure of success rushing.

LA saved their one decent run of the afternoon for their penultimate play, when Gordon managed a 20 yard outside run, which secured the first down the Chargers needed and put paid to any late Browns comeback.
