Week 14 Game Reports

Post by GBDawg1 on Sat 04 Nov 2017, 8:12 am

Green Bay 6-30 Cleveland

The Browns eased to victory against the visiting Packers - a result tht confirmed both their playoff place and the divisional title - but the win came at a price, with key wideout Josh Gordon sustaining a broken arm that will see him done for the season.

The game could have been a lot closer, but Packers' QB Aaron Rodgers was let down badly by his receiving corps, who made some quite incredible drops when under little or no pressure. Add to that, when Ty Montgomery did manage to bust off a big 76 yard TD run, the play was called back for holding.

The Browns suffered a further scare when QB Sam Bradford sustained an injury in the 4th quarter and did not return, but it's a measure of the confidence flowing through the Cleveland side at present that backup Cody Kessler hit Cory Coleman for a big score on his very first (and only) pass from scrimmage.

The Browns will now find themselves in the unusual position of being able to decide whether to rest some starters ahead of the playoffs.
