Sliders

Post by GBDawg1 on Sat 16 Sep 2017, 12:43 am

There has been a lot of discussion over the last few days regarding the sliders and the game level.

We have toned the sliders down and for now intend to leave the game on All-Madden level. We recognise that in the past couple of Madden releases, the CPU has become far more challenging and at times, cheesy, when tackled on A-M level.

I realise more than most of you that when you have a team of limited ability, this can be very frustrating when CPU backups look like GOAT players. Nevertheless, for the time being, we are sticking with all-Madden but will review it again after week 4.

I urge everyone to play their games when they have cpu games - or even H-H games - during this period and give us feedback on how you find the game. So please don't duck out and allow a sim because that is not the point of this league.

We want to get it right so that CPU games are challenging rather than impossible but without feedback it's difficult for us to gauge whether we have the sliders right or not.

i`ve just played against Chargers
CPU`s qb seem to be not tough, but their ol and dl are really fantastic!
Rivers could stay in pocket for 10 seconds or abiut this. and my qb`s got billions of sacks and Mahomes got injuried. Inside runs were stopped immediatly. ihad to play for dl myself to hurry up Rivers.
Any opinions?

Haven't had a cpu game yet but played a "play now" with the league sliders yesterday and thought it was a reasonable test.

Seems you both had different experiences. Why was the SF-LAR game vs cpu?

You can see my vid in the game reports section for some gameplay footage, was quite terrified playing the cpu on the road but it ended up being fairly easy.

Running from my side was tough in the 1st half but Freeman turned it up a notch in the 2nd ending the game with 120 yrds.

Got a lot of pressure and sacks from good coverage when the cpu Lions didn't get any sacks.

Just general feeling the ratings mattered in this one.

Judging by some of the results that have come in this week, it does appear something is not quite right. We will discuss it.

One thing ,people need to compare there ratings vs cpu ratings and against user teams as xipie said ratings matter.

Malhomes sacked 1 smith 4
Obviously your d and olines not as good as you think.

Re: Sliders

Post by Kobza on Mon 25 Sep 2017, 5:21 pm

I understand the my Niners is far far away from just to be a "good" team.
But still it was way too much from cpu (Defence, CPU Offence is ok for me). I cant throw even very short routes passing plays

P.S. Rams overall 78, Niners 77, so it should be close game according to overals but it definetely wasnt.

Also we all understand that you never could achieve same sim style gameplay for user vs user games and cpu vs user, but we have like 10 cpu teams so its a bit worrying...

of course my oline os not great, but it is balanced and a bit better than average oline. i saw no blocks during running plays almost every time and my d made sacks only when i`ve started to play for dlineman. all ther snaps RIvers stayed in pocket really very long time

Ignore team overall, its about individual players ratings.

Blshed/impact/pursuit/awr/prc vs run block and impact/ awareness/str

Rush moves/impact/pursuit/str shed plays a bit but mostly run game vs pass block / impact / awareness/str

Agree with kobza we will never get it like user user, but also people got to make sure its not a rating thing why your struggling and need more practice vs cpu and admitting that was a bad read etc etc as sometimes easy just to blame the game.

I for one at the time blame game then you look back and actually say yeah bad read, panicked etc etc . some time's can't run big but enough and some i get 150 game.

Then it all just solely being down to sliders.

Back cheers guys for feedback what we need
So again keep it coming.

Matty: I don't know where you get your information from, but as far as I knew there had not been much in the way of changes to last year's madden. And, as I've said before, it's all very well thinking everything is fine and dandy with a 93 OVR team; try playing with the Jets, Browns or whatever.

Never said it was fine.lol you forget i was giants for few years.

that's where your going wrong I've known this information for years also common sense just by reading what ratings do in game. Man vs route easiest of them all.Now with simulation mode its way more effective.

Also Sgibs and zfarls did video years ago bout what each individual rating does.

Re: Sliders

Post by tru11 on Tue 26 Sep 2017, 2:29 pm

not entirely true though.

the game still has huge legacy issues that the devs cant solve.

there are still routes and plays that get players open regardless of man cov and RR.

heck defenders are backpeddeling at the same speed as a WR running at full speed and they can then react at lightning speed.

defenders can still run down the field with another receiver and then break on a ball that is going to another receiver like they have eyes in the back of their head.

blockers are still trying to block the safety while letting lbers and dliners get a free run at the ball carrier.
then again o-liners can hardly pancake a corner.

block in the back is broken i think.
there is absolutely no logic on why the cpu makes these penalties.
could be 20 yards down the field and some guy at the LOS decided to block someone in the back.

not sure about roughing the passer but id say some are very questionable.

ill have a look at the sliders if people can get me some vids as example of what they experience.

think that is probably the best option as these discussions are leading us nowhere....

Roughing passer def a thing...especially after a pick you run ten yards your players goes to block qb and gets flagged lol happened 2 times back to back games.

Totally agree game still has legacy issues.

The penalties Donnie got in the Colts / Browns game were ridiculous. He got about 3 roughing the passer calls and all sorts of stuff - about 84 yds in total. I got nothing Very Happy

TBH it turned the game because until this started my D had gone on holiday, but then it all turned around. Problem with the roughing calls is invariably you don't see them happen because the ball is long gone.

Think I had 5 roughing the passed calls(3 on one drive and one of them was also an interception), 1 defensive pass interference(this one really pissed me off because not only was the ball already on the sideline when the flag was thrown, but it was uncatchable), 1 false start and 1 encroachment.

Ruined what could have been a pretty good game but when that happens I pretty much lost all interest.

I'm still scratching my head(still!) as to why we've all paid £50 for what is effectively last year's game with this year's rosters?!?
Usually we get some new stuff but if the only thing we get is this 'Longshot' bollox then we've all been had!

They were all bona fide in my book. Kessler would never have thrown that INT; he panicked because some lump was bearing down on him with a horseshoe on his helmet.

The defensive PI calls are often like that; you have to be careful when you go up and compete for the ball because if you time it too early, I've found you will get the flag.

It's been said before and will be said again: EA are only interested in Ultimate team - and that applies to FIFA as well - as it's their cash cow.
