Trade Deadline Deals

Post by GBDawg1 on Mon 16 Jan 2017, 2:05 pm

We've now passed the trade deadline for another season, but as seems often to be the case these days, it did not pass without incident.

Since the return of Daddyleagues, trades seem to have picked up again as people can now access stats from the Daddyleagues site, making life a lot easier.

I should say that of course most trades go through once they have been approved in the "Trades Approved" thread, but now and again there is a problem. May I remind everyone that once the trade has been signed off in this thread, it is a "done deal" and has to go through. However, if a trade is not accepted before the advance, normally the game kicks it out and it has to be proposed again.

This is of course a particular issue at the end of Week 8, as we have the trade deadline on and no trades are allowed after Week 8 until the season is over.

So, if you are looking to conduct last-minute trades before the deadline then it's important that the you are around to accept the trade before the deadline curtain falls. This hasn't been the case for a few seasons now and it has resulted in us having to open up the trade screen after the event in order for the trade to be processed. This is an unnecessary situation and in future all trades will need to be resolved before the deadline, assuming they have been ratified. In each instance, the week 9 games have not been played, but that's not the point.

If they are not resolved before the week 8 deadline, then in future they won't go through. However, disciplinary measures will be taken against one or both owners as a result of the trade not having been resolved, once we determine who is at fault. So if you are not going to be around, I suggest you don't make a late trade.
