Do something with CPU sliders

Post by CaptPetrenko on Tue 11 Oct 2016, 9:38 pm

I don't know exactly why but every game vs CPU is a torture. It is not funny. It is ugly. It is not a game in the right sence of this word. I don't know how the hell offensive linemen with strength and run blocking above 90 can't do one little gap. I don't know how man with 92 carrying can fumble the ball twice. I don't know how two of the best pass rushers in the league can't generate single pressure on QB. How the hell CPU OL can hold the pocket for 10 seconds? It is not a sim. It is everything else but not a fair game. I only can be grateful that Hakenberger was not in The God Mode as it supposed to be. Do something. Why we should suffer?

When I first read this, I assumed Arizona had lost. They didn't.

It seems to me that people want to have an easy ride against the cpu. I agree it's been tough, but do we want a challenge or a guaranteed win like it used to be?

I agree.

Its been tough for a lot of us playing CPU for years now. Welcome to our world. Might be that the AI is recognising the money plays lol

I like this Madden. Most of the games are tighter. Not all but most.

I feel I have a chance to win some games now, instead of knowing I'll get beat. Even when I lose I have enjoyed the games this Madden.

I always thought if an owner couldn't make a game, then it was classed as a forfeit. The other owner had free reign to beat down on the CPU (within the rules).

It's not the case anymore, the CPU is tough too beat

Ok. It another round of 'Your numbers vs CPU numbers'. You forgot to say that Jets OL is the best offensive line in football history. Why every type of my run game - no matter in what direction - was destined to finish with loss of yards? On first attempt Forte gained 9 up the middle. Hakenberger was standing in the pocket for 5-6 seconds no matter how many people was going to blitz him.

I don't think that chances to win against CPU are better on user side. There might be different circumstances. Someone will fall asleep in the the end of the season then you need a crucial win and CPU will leave you without play off run because 'its the best OL of all time' can hold the f*cking pocket. In this Madden even asshole with accuracy of 70 can do things if he stays in the pocket long enough what is almost the case when you play vs CPU. Square and X button does not help either. I can accept 'Your Blocks vs CPU Sheddings' but i can't accept the way this game is trying to kick my ass.

Re: Do something with CPU sliders

the purpose of all madden is the cpu trying to kick your ass lol.

basicially if you pick a play on offense the cpu will pick the perfect play to counter it.
when they pick a play on offense the cpu will do what it can to run in successful.

when the cpu is behind in the 4th quarter it almost goes in cheat mode.

its been always this way.
its nothing new.

what is new is that we decided that cpu must be a challenges because people where caught abusing the cpu by boosting stats and such.

if you want to be mad be mad at those that forced us to go this route.

heck people went as far as demanded others to play at times to difficult for them only in the hope to get  an easy cpu game.

also for the record the cpu sliders for their offense are already pretty low.
QB accuracy and pass blocking are already pretty low.
the defense sliders overall are generally lower then i used to have them.

those fumbles are a madden issue EA is looking into and have little to do with the sliders.
its actually the new physics everyone wanted that seems to be the main cause for them.

Re: Do something with CPU sliders

I struggled massively against the winless Bears and got my arse handed to me basically but i wouldnt blame sliders for it

I think we underestimate the impact of us picking plays, I try and counteract what my opponent will do, im not sure everyone else does, but the CPU definitely does

My only negative of my CPU game was Ivory, 500+ yards through 4 games and he managed less than 1.5 yards a carry!!

Cutler made the throws he should make because i didnt get pressure on him, when he was pressured he missed, thats realistic in my eyes! Any QB in the NFL can make any throw when they are given time and thats all they do.

My decision making cost me the game, not the all madden cpu and i think that is the case most of the time and we are all quick to jump on the 'cpu is too hard' bandwagon when really we need to look at ourselves

Re: Do something with CPU sliders

Post by GBDawg1 on Wed 12 Oct 2016, 10:53 am

Well said Del.

I have had a mixed bag against the cpu. I was getting my arse handed to me in preseason but have managed to win both games I haave had in the regular season.

Wentz started out really slowly in the game I had against Philly but then seemed to remember in the second half that he was supposed to be an elite QB and I only just hung on. Miami were poor but I played them in my own CCM and same game, same sliders, different result.

When this league was founded in October 2009 (yes that long ago) we did start out as an All-Pro league but I believe (I can't remember exactly) that that was only for a couple of seasons and then we moved up to All-Madden. I would view returning to All-Pro as a retrograde step and it's not something we have considered or are considering.

I agree that there have been problems with the CPU - I am struggling to run the ball either vs the cpu or human opponents and whilst I don't have an elite running back, the two at my disposal are supposedly "not bad". I can only assume that this is down to my lack of ability than anything else. I need to practice more.

However, getting back to the issue of games vs the cpu, when the cpu was easy to beat (anything pre-Madden 16 as I recall) owners would often not bother playing their games against the cpu because they found it boring. There was no challenge - other than occasionally and then people feared losing to the cpu because of the "embarrassment factor". Since Madden 16, that has gone. You win some, you lose some. Shouldn't that be the way it should be? Should games against the cpu be a guaranteed win? What's the point of that? At least now, if you beat the cpu, you feel as though you've achieved something.

I am not saying we have the sliders quite right, but try playing at default sliders on All-Madden in this year's game. I have and found it almost impossible to win. That's not the case with the sliders we have.

Sometimes I wonder what people really want. If you  just want to win easily, then set up an offline league on rookie level and you will get your wish. As I said, people used to complain the cpu was too easy - I guess we just can't make everyone happy.

dont use the sprint button or when using it just tap it when in the open field.

once you press the sprint button , the cpu sheds block instantly and defenders also get an instant speed boost and catch up to you.

Yeah we know that. But when you see a collective 600+ lbs coming at you, panic sets in.

A small issue I found from my CPU quarter is that the CPU players seem to pull off a miracle interception,  even when blitzing. CB on the blitz, lob the pass over him and he catches it turning and diving where the WR makes no effort.

And before Matty says it, it was Hopkins against a nickel CB, so the elite bias didn't happen!

Oh, and kicking in snow... near impossible! Which in fairness, is realistic.

As much as I agree with making CPU games difficult, the effort I had to put in just to stay within 1 score is not something I think I could sustain for multiple games without smashing a controller again!
