DAP's Week 3 Review

Post by MCFCDAP on Sat 01 Oct 2016, 10:42 pm

Week 3 of the EAFL Season 1 is in the books and here is my weekly review....

My Game of the Week, Falcons @ Saints, was a strong divisional game which saw no points scored in the whole second half! The Saints took an early lead but a massive 23-0 2nd quarter from the Falcons saw them take the W with a final score of 30-17.

After 3 weeks of football, there are only 4 unbeaten teams in the league. First off the Cowboys were convincing winners against the Bears, with Jay Cutler have a nightmare day throwing 3 picks and being sacked 3 times, the 'Boys won 35-12.

A defensive battle in Green Bay saw the Lions keep their 100% record with 3 FGs being enough to see of the Packers 9-6. The other 2 unbeaten sides had much more convincing wins with the Chiefs beating the Jets 39-24 and the Raiders looking good on both sides of the ball in a 30-3 win over the Titans.

At the other end of the scale, 5 teams are without a win, 3 of them teams have already been mentioned with the Bears, Titans and Saints yet to get a win. The other 2 are the Steelers who lost to the Eagles in week 3 and the Dolphins have also yet to grab a win, this week losing to Browns who seemed to get the Week 1 Bortles back at QB.

Elsewhere, 2 AFC South teams grabbed wins with the Texans beating the Patriots and the young Jaguars team beating the Ravans, with running back Chris Ivory rushing for over 200 yards and finishing with 3 TDs.

It was also a good week for the rest of the NFC South with wins for the Panthers and the Buccaneers, who won 10-3 against the Rams in one of the best defensive displays of the season so far.

Wins also came for Arizona, NY Giants, Denver, San Francisco and San Diego.

My Week 4 Game of the Week sees the unbeaten Dallas Cowboys travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers!

Enjoy week 4 lads, good luck to those looking for a first win and to those looking to keep alive the dream of a 19-0 season!
