I don't feel I can give great feedback as genuinely think i'm just getting worse and worse at this game!

Agree with Jim, running is hit and miss completely, i can break a 20 yarder and then the next 5 attempts can gain a yard!

I do think the passing windows are a lot smaller and you need guys who can catch, that rating seems to matter more than ever.  I have so many dropped passes or passings that are blocked, i'm not sure if its the game or I'm not releasing quick enough.  I will say though, they've got a lot better at the fact if your man isnt looking at the ball, he isnt catching it, no miracle catches

CPU QBs throw it away a lot more when u get close to a sack as well

Re: Madden 17 First Impressions

Post by tru11 on Wed 31 Aug 2016, 7:58 pm

well the purpose of the 0 sliders set is to let rating really matter a lot more.

reason im intrested in that has a lot to do with how expensive it has become to upgrade key ratings like man cov and such for instance.

its become a lot harder to create studs which i personally like a lot.

however this does make things harder if you dont have a lot of good players.

so any feedback is good as im trying to find a set that will satisfy everyone.

but if people dont test stuff or dont give any feedback ill just pick whatever i like and yall might not like that once we start lol

Agree with tru, only few have tried these testers.

Tru i will try a get a response to see if ratings are connected with sliders ,sure heard you could have best O ,but if its on 0 your still most like lose dice roll

Playing offline in a franchise.

QBs complete everything.

CPU plays go exactly where you have no defender.

No pressure on the passer.

Zone coverage in the Secondary isn't great.

Messed around with my own sliders, but seems like another flawed Madden.

I found coverage on default against fraff was good for both of us.

Also it about picking the right play at right time especially with the new zones and what they do as assignments. Also in run game depending who your usering.

Pressuring the qb is important too especially cpu, unless you have front 4 guys who are superior to those 5 or 6 guys blocking.any qb will complete most passes.sometimes got risk it to get the biscuit with a blitz or superb coverage and your 4will get there. Remember 1 is always most likey getting double teamed.

if you play zone and there rating poor along with no awareness or prc your in trouble

Played two games on red and green sliders both enjoyed.

Green more realistic just by a tiny bit. Taking into TFL and broken tackles alone.

Re: Madden 17 First Impressions

After more and more testing vs CPU, I won't be playing any more game on All Madden against CPU.

Brandon Weeden just completed every pass. Every single pass. It didn't matter if it was man or zone. Blitz or not. 25/25. His 75SPD TE outran a 90SPD CB for a final TD. That was on a streak pattern against off-man coverage.

Either the CPU is scripting things to even out the teams like EA do with FIFA Ultimate Team, or there is something wrong.

5 different iterations of online sliders, and they don't seem to make a blind bit of difference to All Madden non-online games, that is for sure.

It would be on eBay now if it wasn't for this league.

I will be around tonight around 9 if anyone fancies a game?

I find PA so much easier which is good as the Steelers playbook has loads of them!

I can rarely stop the CPU offence when it switches to ' I am going to win' mode BUT I really like the game!

Something should happen to rushing though imo or it could be me getting lucky and then unlucky!

Oh and as a side note I do think with the last madden and it looks like this madden the game is getting generally harder which means the gap between the good and not so good players gets wider!

I think we have seen this over the last few maddens and it's a grind for the not so goods!

I would suggest you wait for the patch to come out (I am assuming one is due) and see what changes after that.
Played tru last night and camera was at an odd angle - far too low. It made deep throws a lottery because you simply couldn't see whether receivers were open or not from that angle.
Kicking is virtually impossible (this was my first game) although I managed to convert 1 PAT and also managed to keep 1 kickoff in bounds. The others sailed out over the sideline. If anyone else has played a hum v hum game in tru's franchise then please say whether it's now ok or not. I tinkered with some settings afterwards.

Yes, running was difficult and I thought the game mechanics seemed odd. I can't put my finger on what it was, but suppose we will get used to it.

Can't see what your point is about Brandon Weeden though. EA have obviously simply graded him according to his unquestionable abilities.

Patch 1? Does that mean patch 2 is coming soon as well? Or are we just waiting for the rosters now? Any link as to what's in this?

One thing I think that I've discovered is that the blocking actually matters this year.

Run behind the run blockers successfully.

Pass-blockers are more successful.

Those little things actually working are nice!

I think the game needs to be slowed a little bit, and QBs are literally on autoblast on All Madden

Re: Madden 17 First Impressions

Well, I played my first game against the cpu tonight, and lost. It was close - only 2 pts in it - but these came about for a number of reasons.

+ I kicked a bit better but missed a PAT, which caused other things to unravel.
+ Fumbles are too much. Josh McCown managed to cough up the ball about four times and one of them looked like an incomplete pass to me but of course no challenge was available.
+ Running was a bit of a mixed bag, as others have reported. A couple of good runs and a lot of mediocrity.
+ Stopping the cpu running seemed impossible. I knocked Le'Veon Bell out of the game, but before I had finished congratulating myself, his back up ran all over me.
+ Got a lot of penalties against me including a bogus pass INT 57 yard penalty. None against the cpu of course.
+ Too many broken tackles. It was ludicrous at times.

Other than that, other stuff ok.

If you try throwing as about to get hit most likely a fumble.

Keep and eye out and throw away or l2+r2 square give your self up.

Carry rating may play a part in qb fumbles.if still holding it and get hit

To check your block assignments use the right stick left or right to see assignments depending which way play runs.

I know broken tackles are bad,but how many were actually broken tackles ie registered and how many were down too rating tackle and timing. Square or X
