Re: Introduce Yourself

Post by raymondtaylor on Thu 14 Jul 2011 - 22:50

Hello

I'm Simon and live in South London. Raymond is a nickname and a lot of people call me that, it wont be too long before everyone does. I'm 38 and work in construction management on one of the big projects in London.

Started watching football again last season after my original stint in the 80's on good old Channel 4. Started watching again as I got into hockey a few years ago (this was whilst snowboarding in Whistler so I support the Canucks) and then about 4 years ago saw a Chicago Cubs game and had the realisation that Northern American sports were amazing. So I try to get over as often as I can to watch sports, went to NY a couple of months ago and saw the Mets 3 times and last year went to Boston and saw a couple of Bruins games and a Celtics game. Not been to a football game yet but definately will this season.

I thought I should pick a team to support and was struggling to decide. My original plan was Green Bay as I seemed to remember them being rubbish back in the 80's but people were tipping them for the Superbowl so the glory seeking put me off. Thought of a couple of others but bizzarely after watching various games I somehow settled on the Browns. I think it was the challenge of supporting a team with a brown jersey.

Watch Rugby Union and got a Harlequins season ticket this year. Support Portsmouth but have majorly lost interest in football over the last few years.

Only started playing Madden in this version and am still getting to grips with it, but it is a great way to really learn the actual game. Really impressed so far with this league and the work being put into it and looks like a good place to stay. I also play in the NFLUK league which has a great bunch of guys in it.

I also want to try and start up a NHL 12 leagues as well this year.

I agree I just LOVE going to watch American sports. It's all about the tailgate!

Going to see the Phillies in August. Can't wait.

Good to see Jammas is getting his holiday announcement in early. I was beginning to worry that he had nothing fixed. Must be about 3 months since the last one now.......

I would urge you to stay clear of Mr Lube though. You might find yourself not quite as refreshed as you had hoped should that be your selection for the evening.

Re: Introduce Yourself

Post by Sol-man81 on Mon 18 Jul 2011 - 10:59

Hello. I suppose i'd better tell a bit too.

My name is Andy i'm 30yrs old, married with no kids. I work as a Train Conductor for Northern Rail based in Leeds. I've been in to the NFL since the seeing the great Cowboys teams of the 90's. I've stuck with them ever since for better or worse as has been the case.

I will watch pretty much any sport and have recently started to get into Baseball after a trip to Yankee stadium got me hooked.

I love music and will listen to pretty much anything except dance and R&B. I'm really into underground political hip hop like Jedi Mind tricks, i like bands like the Stone Roses,Oasis and the Smiths. Plus more recent ones like the Cribs and Courteeners. I also love me some Bruce Springsteen. Embarassed

This is the 1st year ive been involved in an on-line franchise, i discovered this one through BP, who im in another franchise with. I thought the Jets would be a decent 2nd choice seeing as i went to the New Meadowlands last year to watch the Jets Patriots game while on honeymoon. Cowboys stadium is next on the list after a new Car.

I'm gonna stop now before this begins to sound like a lonely hearts ad. Embarassed

Glad to be part of an extremely well run franchise and hope to get above .500 in Madden 12. Its gonna be tough though as it seems the level is this franchise is pretty high.
