Re: EAFL NFL Mock Draft
COLTS ''Luck is an elite quarterback, and extremely athletic which always helps. He's the safest draft pick since..........well, since Peyton!''
REDSKINS '' RG3 will be the franchise QB the skins need, with his athletic skills and a great range of passing he has the potential to be a great QB for Washington and under the guidance of Shanahan he will get the help he needs.''
VIKINGS
BROWNS ''With Hillis gone to KC, the Browns were left very light in this position and although they would have been tempted to boost their secondary had Claiborne still been available, with him gone there was really only one choice. Richardson should provide the Browns with an elite back for years to come.''
BUCCANEERS ''Personally I think if situation arises (no Claiborne or Richardson), the Bucs will trade down as there's no-one really worthy of the 5th pick that fits our needs. But I've gone with Poe because both McCoy and Price have struggled to stay fit for the first 2 years of their careers and he offers us probably more than both in the run game, he's a big unit and could cause a lot of damage in the backfield.''
RAMS ''The Rams need weapons for Bradford so they take WR Justin Blackmon, who should make an immediate impact.''
JAGUARS ''Best player on the board and the Right Side of the Jaguars O-Line was frankly awful in 2011.''
DOLPHINS ''The Dolphins hope Tannehill drops to them at #8 and also hope that the saying '3 times a bridesmaid, never a bride' is one that's not used in Miami for years to come.''
PANTHERS '' With DT Poe gone and it being too much of a reach to take DTs Cox or Brockers. The Panthers are left to decide which home town DE to take, will it be S Carolinas M Ingram or N Carolina DE Q Coples. The reason i went with Coples is he is a 3 down line man and can move inside with his size (6,6 290lb) on passing 3rd downs. And with such a deep class for DTs we can pick one up in the 2nd round.
BILLS
CHIEFS '' After adding to the offense through FA the Chiefs look to beef up the defense. With talent in the secondary and Hali providing an elite pass rush, Brockers has the potential to be the piece that pushes the Chiefs D to the top of the pile. Brockers figures to play the key 'Nose' role in the Chiefs' 3-4, but also has the versatility to play End in the 3-4.''
Seahawks ''Might be a bit of a reach at 12, but with Matt Flynn now in Seattle he'll need someone to throw to outside, especially since their most talented WR Sidney Rice is frequently injured and played 9 games last season. Looking at the success the Bengals had with a new QB and No. 1 WR, the Seahawks might like to try the same. Floyd has the natural talent you like for a 12th overall pick.''
CARDINALS '' Martin is one of two tackle prospects in this year's class who could be called elite, and given the value of the position will be a likely first-round pick because of it. He embodied all that Stanford football was throughout his time there, as he is an aggressive, smart, technically sound prospect who will enter the league at a stage in his development where he should be able to contribute immediately.''
COWBOYS '' The Cowboys need help at corner and Kirkpatrick fits the bill. Solid cover guy and an improving tackler, the Cowboys need this pick and straight away he can help out.''
EAGLES ''Philly did a great job picking up DeMeco Ryans from Houston as he is a proven 4-3 MLB, but they do need an upgrade on either side of Ryans. Kuechly is a tacking machine, he has unique abiltity and intelligences from being a 3 year starter within the ACC. A Sure fire pick that will be a 10 year starter in the league from day one and will eventually move to the inside as he gains experience.''
NY JETS ''The Jets race to the podium with their pick. New Jersey are delighted and surprised to see Ingram on the board midway through the first round and see him as an answer to the pass rush problems the Jets had last season. Ingram provides versatility and Rex Ryan will be able to use him in a number of ways.''
BENGALS ''The Bengals have a need @ OG so they can't pass on David DeCastro out of Stanford with the 17th pick. He's a low risk, high reward pick and he'll help open running lanes and he'll protect Dalton for years to come'
CHARGERS ''The Chargers need some heat from the other side of Phillips, especially now that Manning is in the Division. The Chargers had their eye on Ingram who is the better pass rusher, but Upshaw is the more all rounded sideline to sideline 'backer' who will fit in well into the Chargers D. San Diego will hope that Upshaw doesnt turn out to be another Larry English type bust as they are at risk sliding out of contention in a division where the other teams are getting their act together.''
BEARS ''Mercilus is this this year's one season wonder, all you can ask for talent. Recording a team leading number of sacks in the last season of his college career, Mercilus has all the potential to be a Jason Pierre Paul mark II. The Bears know they have to get to the QB to stand a chance in a division featuring Stafford, Rodgers and a developing Ponder and by taking Mercilus they will have the book-end threat that they will hope allows Peppers to be even more destructive.''
Titans ''Thetitans will take rubben randle would ave gone for a cb but with yesterday's interest in Samuel they need cover incase target man Britt goes down injured again on week 3 and misses another 13 weeks of the season''
Bengals '' The Bengals consider Gilmore here, but they look as though they're addressing CB through free agency so they take Alabama's SS Mark Barron. The Bengals have projects at safety in Jeremy Miles & Taylor Mays but Barron will come in and start alongside Reggie Nelson at the safety position.''
BROWNS ''Browns desperately need an upgrade at WR to provide more weapons for their QB. Jonathan Martin would probably have been the pick but with him off the board, Browns had to take a WR now and hope for an OT in a later round. Wright had a good pro day and brings some much-needed speed to the Browns offense.''
LIONS '' lions need secondary help bad and therefore select the 3rd rated cb stephen gilmore from south carolina''
STEELERS ''we need so badly new O-line player with those injures this year with starting 2nd or 3rd string players week by week...''
BRONCOS "The Broncos take the best inside rusher in the draft + they have a big hole @DT. They hope that adding Cox to Von-Doom will give the Broncos a passrush that will give QBs around the NFL sleepless nights lol.''
TEXANS '' With defenses able to shade coverage towards Andre Johnson, a threat on the other side of the field helps Matt Schaub and the Texans passing game. With Johnson also suffering from durability issues in the last 2 seasons, an alternative is imperative with Jacoby Jones not showing the consistency required. Hill is raw but physically talented.''
''The draft doesnt fall for the Pats here and they are forced to take a punt in troubled CB Jenkins out of North Alabama. With McCourty struggling after his rookie season and Dowling still to prove he can stay healthy, the Pats need another CB. Jenkins has the talent to be the best corner in this draft and the Patriots will be hoping he can buy into the 'Patriot Way'.''
Packers ''at 6'4", 259 lbs, Branchs can be a great pass rusher at the next level. He isn't t a fiinish product. But have all the skills to emerge as an elite pass rush. Packers desperately need someone to pair with Clay Matthews and get off some pressure from the ProBowler.
Branch is athletic, run the 40dash in 4.70 and have big first step that can allow him to avoid great big blockers. Great tool for Dom-mani Capers and his creative defensive schemes. What he have to learn is to play sometimes in coverage, stepping back and moving is big frame in the open field.
Ravens ''With Peter Konz still on the board, it's not an easy decision for Ozzie Newsome to make but with Ray Lewis expected to retire after each season an interior linebacker to spend his rookie year learning from one of the all time greats is too hard to resist. Add in the Alabama connection and you have a player that Ozzie will trust.''
49ers ''The guy can play wherever the 9ers want him to play, after what Aldon Smith did last year they will get the best out of Perry for sure. Justin Smith, Aldon Smith and Perry could be as dominant on the line as the Giants were this past season.''
REDSKINS '' RG3 will be the franchise QB the skins need, with his athletic skills and a great range of passing he has the potential to be a great QB for Washington and under the guidance of Shanahan he will get the help he needs.''
